This works very well. I have been trying to eat better so I have been steaming a lot of vegetables lately. I like these oven mitts for grabbing the steamer out of the pot when it is done. I loved the color of this potholder. We use it at our house to place hot plates and bowls on so they do not mark up our kitchen table. We do not use them as potholders since we have so many oven mitts already.
