I found this to be a nice headlamp. The red light is nice if you want to be able to preserve your night vision. Just be wary of the strobe light that comes on while cycling through the lights. The strobe will hurt your eyes. Another thing is that the light is not waterproof, so do not try to use it in damp climates or rainy conditions. I got this one for myself for camping this summer. I like that there is a wide light angle to it which allow me to see more and that with a click I can narrow the light in to allow it to be more powerful right in front of me. The red lights I find to be good when walking out where cars are to allow them to see me so I have a lower risk of being hit. The batteries seem to last for a very long time.
