These work great for our workout shoes. I like that they are black so you do not have to worry about them getting dirty. They are easy to activate by laying them out in the sun for an hour or two once a month. I had gotten this pair especially for my boyfriend's leather sneakers. He never wears socks with these sneakers and they smell horrible but they are his favorite pair that he wears everywher e. They fit nicely inside of a sneaker. Sometimes if there are a bunch of shoes I just have a few of these laying in the closet to take care of the general smell of all of the shoes. This is a great eco-friendly alternative to deodorizing your shoes. The only difficulty I find is that in order for them to work they have to sit out in the sun for a few hours. It is hard for me to remember to do that once a month sometimes. I find that these work very well my gym shoes always had an odor to them, but this helped to take most of the smell away. I got these to use in the closet where we keep our shoes after a few days I was not seeing a difference and it disappointed me. Then when I read through the reviews I saw that they first need to be placed in the sun for an hour in order to activate them. After I did that I really started to notice a difference.
