The Wonderland Effect by Robert Arrington

This was my new read for the fall. It is a new spin on the classic tale of Alice in Wonderland. Alice is now a girl who has superpowers and is out to help a girl who has been kidnapped. You also get to hear of her imaginary friends who are the other characters that you have loved from the classic tale.

I have a slight..... ok major obsession with reading fairy tales with a spin on them, so it's really not surprising that I chose to read this book. It did not disappoint me one bit. I had a hard time putting it down some days. I would recommend this to any who loves fairy tales, fantasy, or adventure.

Reading Kingdom

Reading Kingdom is a supplemental program which allows kids to have a fun way to practice their reading and writing skills with fun little games. The program is geared towards kindergarten through third grade. My little sister, Cheyenne, took part in this program. She enjoyed the games that they had and she thought that it helped, but she thought that it would be difficult for really little kids. She also thought that kindergartners would have trouble with the typing part since they tell adults not to help the children. She said that it was pretty easy to follow with their instructions. I liked that they showed that progress that they were making in a report card. The card lays out how they are doing in various sections of the program, so you and your child has an idea on what they can improve on in the future as they continue to follow this program.
